Fundamentals of Progressive Rock - Part 1

Often while chatting with friends and students, questions about “what is exactly” or “what are fundamental characteristics” of Progressive Rock compositions comes up.

What I noticed is that many people think that the fundamental characteristics are just presence of Spare Time Signatures (or Odd Time Signatures) and a keyboard player who can play solos… Honestly I find this a wrong definition and also very reductive, so here is some (and I repeat SOME) of the “must have” in order to define a track Progressive Rock or Progressive Metal. • · About

I am studying as music producer and I already practice this amazing art with some local band here in Brighton…

After years playing and composing music, being a sound engineer I think the logical evolution would be to get into the secret art of music production.

I am specialized in the following music genres:

1) Progressive Rock, Progressive Metal

2) Rock, Rock-Blues

3) Heavy Metal and Hard Rock

4) Pop

5) Movie soundtracks

Please click on the music genre you’re interested into to have examples of my productions.

  • · About

I am a studio session musician offering music session services locally here in Brighton and the UK, as well as world-wide.

For music sessions here in Brighton area and London I can travel easily and quickly or I can work from my studio.

For sessions world-wide I mostly work from my own studio and send my recordings via internet (via the usual suspects like Drop Box etc…). I can also travel, please contact me for more details.

My studio equipment supports all industry standards audio-formats as well as audio recording quality, AD/DA converters, complete set of industry standard mics, DAW and DSP, offering so best audio quality. I have also long-term experience using lots of audio plugins and sound-design effects and tools for all the instruments I play. I can generally accommodate most exigent music producers requirements.

Sessions are available for:

1) Guitar sessions: acoustic, classical and electric

2) Bass guitar sessions: 6 strings and 5 strings

3) Drum sessions: Really high quality Roland vDrum TD-30 sounds for acoustic and electronic

4) Keyboard sessions: Synthesizers, electronic organs, piano

5) Cinematica sessions: special effects, sounds, movie soundtracks composition and recording

Sessions are available for the following music genres (but I can play more and I like to play almost every music genre):

– Progressive Rock and Progressive Metal

– Rock, Rock-Blues, Blues

– Acoustic, Folk

– Pop

– Hip Hop

– RnB

– Drum and bass

Click on each music genre for samples on this website.

I am also willing to collaborate with other artists all over the world and learn new forms of music because of my huge passion for music in general.

For more info please feel free to contact me.
